Blasphemy Show Notes

Some believe there is an unforgivable sin, while others think you can “cross a line” and no longer be eligible for salvation. I often get letters asking if a person who does this or did that can be saved. The only unforgivable sin is blasphemy of the Holy Ghost, and it has a very specific application and dispensation. Let’s explore!

Blasphemy - Hebrew: ne’āṣâ - contempt, blasphemy

Blasphemy is related to spoken words
Blasphemy is related to provoking the Lord to anger by rejecting His Word

Blasphemy Greek: blasphēmia - slander, detraction, speech injurious, to another's good name
impious and reproachful speech injurious to divine majesty

The only sin in Scripture confirmed to be unforgivable is blasphemy of the Holy Ghost

This changed with Paul: In the dispensation of Grace, we are forgiven ALL trespasses!

I use a Tyndale printed King James Bible that can be found here:

We have been forgiven all trespasses! Christ died in AD33. Every sin you could ever commit was in the future when He died, including the ones you commit tomorrow. God knew before the foundation of the world the worst crimes that humans could do, and He offered up His perfect Lamb as a perfect sacrifice. All of your sins are paid for. Praise God!
