The Morning Star Show Notes

Is the name Lucifer a mistranslation? Or was the Holy Spirit leading the translators to make a very clear distinction between the son of the morning and The Morning Star? Let’s search the Scriptures!

“How you have fallen from heaven, O morning star, son of the dawn!” - Isaiah 14:12 - NIV
“How you are fallen from heaven, O Day Star, son of Dawn!” - Isaiah 14:12 - ESV
“How art thou fallen from heaven, O day-star, son of the morning!” - Isaiah 14:12 - ASV
“How are you fallen from heaven, O Shining One, son of Dawn!” - Isaiah 14:12 - The Israel Bible

Lucifer - Hebrew: hêlēl - Lucifer = “light-bearer”; shining one, morning star, Lucifer; of the king of Babylon and Satan (fig.)

Day star - Greek: phōsphoros  - light bringing, giving light; the planet Venus, the morning star, day star; metaph. Christ

Scripture References:
All Scripture references are cited from the King James Bible.

Isaiah 14:12-15, Job 38:4-7, Revelation 2:26-28, Revelation 22:16, Job 38:12-13, 2 Peter 1:19, Luke 1:76-79, Matthew 24:27, Isaiah 13:1-13, Romans 13:11-12, Zephaniah 1:7-8, Matthew 22:1-14, 2 Thessalonians 1:7-10

I use a Tyndale printed King James Bible that can be found here:

Lucifer is not the Morning Star! He is certainly an imitator and imposter of Christ, but the coming Day of the Lord will prove who is the Bright and Morning Star to all the nations, angels and those who oppose the truth.
